Gentle, vet-supervised grooming

At Tiny Pet Clinic in Phuket, grooming is vet-supervised from start to finish. We welcome dogs and cats — and occasionally guinea pigs by prior arrangement. If your pet is anxious or new to grooming, we take the session at their pace. Book a slot below.

What grooming at our clinic looks like
Most of our grooming visits are for dogs and cats — from short-coated breeds that need a simple bath and tidy, to long-coated pets that need a full de-shed or clip. We also take guinea pigs occasionally, by prior arrangement, so we can make sure the space and handling are right for them. Every visit starts with a short check-in so we understand your pet's coat, skin, temperament, and any recent health changes. From there we work at a pace your pet is comfortable with, pausing whenever we need to.
Why vet-supervised matters
Grooming isn't just a wash and a trim — it's an hour of hands-on contact that can reveal a lot about your pet's health. Because a veterinarian is on-site throughout every grooming session at our clinic, small concerns are typically noticed early: a lump, an ear that looks sore, a coat change that might hint at a skin or thyroid issue. Our groomers use calm, low-restraint handling and we stop or adjust the session if a pet is stressed. That combination — vet oversight plus unhurried handling — is the core difference between a clinic grooming visit and a walk-in salon. If anything during the session needs a vet's attention, we can address it the same day rather than sending you somewhere else.

What's typically included
A standard grooming visit is built around your pet's coat type and what they need on the day. Services commonly included in a visit are:
- Bath and shampoo matched to your pet's coat and skin type
- Ear clean and gentle check-in during the bath
- Nail trim and, where needed, a light filing
- Sanitary clip and tidy around paws, face, and rear as needed
- Blow-dry and full brush-out, with a short end-of-visit health glance from the vet
For nervous or first-time groomers
If your pet has never been groomed professionally — or had a hard experience elsewhere — please let us know when you book. For anxious pets we plan shorter first sessions focused on desensitisation: a friendly greeting, a gentle bath if they're ready, and a tidy rather than a full groom. Owners are welcome to stay for the introduction so your pet sees a familiar face while they settle in. We never force-restrain; if a pet isn't coping on the day, we stop and reschedule rather than push through.
After your visit
Your pet goes home clean, brushed, and — in most cases — a little sleepy. We typically suggest a quiet evening, fresh water, and a light meal. If you notice any skin redness, persistent itching, or anything else you want a second opinion on, message us within 24 hours and our team will follow up.
Do you groom cats as well as dogs? What about small pets like guinea pigs?
Yes — dogs and cats are our everyday grooming visits. We also take guinea pigs occasionally, by prior arrangement, so we can set up the room and handling to suit them. Please message us first with your pet's species, age, and coat type so we can confirm we're the right fit before booking.
Do I need to show vaccination records?
We typically ask to see current core vaccination records — particularly rabies — before grooming, to protect your pet and the others visiting the clinic that day. Please bring your pet's vaccination book or send a photo ahead of the appointment. If you're unsure whether your records are up to date, message us before booking and we'll walk you through it.
What's the difference between a bath and a full groom?
A bath is the shorter visit: shampoo matched to the coat, ear clean, nail trim, blow-dry, and a brush-out. A full groom adds a clip or scissor-tidy — face, paws, sanitary area, and body length — sized to the breed and how the coat is sitting that day. We'll recommend one or the other after the check-in, or suggest a combination.
My cat/dog has never been groomed professionally. What should I expect?
We plan first-time visits as a gentle introduction rather than a full groom. Expect a calm greeting, a short handling assessment, and a shorter session overall — typically a bath and tidy rather than a full clip. Owners are welcome to stay for the introduction. If your pet isn't coping on the day, we stop and reschedule rather than push through.
How long will my pet be with you?
A typical bath visit runs about 1 to 2 hours, and a full groom runs about 2 to 3 hours, depending on coat length and how your pet settles. Nervous pets or first-time groomers may take longer because we work at their pace. We'll give you a time estimate when you check in.
How do you handle grooming if my pet gets stressed, and what should I do after the visit?
If your pet shows stress signs, we pause — a short break, a change of handler, or rescheduling the rest of the visit. We never force-restrain. At home afterwards, a quiet evening, fresh water, and a light meal usually help. If anything feels off in the first 24 hours — skin redness, persistent itching, unusual tiredness — message us and our team will follow up.
